We had the phone set up in a about 10 minutes. It works really well for my 94 year old mother in law who is not interested in the NBN or the internet. It answers calls the same as her old phone when she picks up the handset. It dials numbers in the same way as her old phone except that she has to press the green handset symbol after putting the number in to make the phone dial the number imediately. She has unlimited calls for $15/month versus $55/month on th NBN. It has lots of other features that she’ll never use but that’s fine.
Can potentially save an unnecessary call to support. In an ideal world, you pop in an existing sim and everything works. Advising a customer to swap their sim card instead of letting the one their phone shipped with would be poor advice for when things don't go as planned.

As she can’t manage a mobile phone, this phone was the next best thing. $30.00 SIM for 6 months but the family does all the calls in to save costs for her. The volume for her is great and she feels so comfortable with her new “home” phone. Phone was for my elderly mother and after a short time has now started to use the phone easily.
